Hello Fellow TIGers,

I wanted to share with you a wonderful/insipiring volunteer experience in Buenos Aires Argentina! Ve'ahavta ( a non profit organization) has put together a 6 week trip to Argentina with the purpose of improving upon spanish language skills and assisting the Jewish Community in Argentina.

Why do we believe this is important?

Argentina, home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America, is struggling with the after-effects of an economic crisis. It is estimated that 25% of the 200,000-strong Jewish community fell below the poverty line.
Ve'ahavta is working with Jewish social assistance agencies in Buenos Aires who are working heroically to help the Jewish community by providing food, clothing, medicines, rent subsidies, as well as counselling and community-building.

Ve'ahavta has many different placement opportunities including working at a baby help center for families living below the poverty line and teaching ESL.

This program is also a great opportunity to learn about a new culture/community and to make long lasting friendships!
